It’s about time I got my head around Joomla I thought… So I’m installing it on my free server at: iopan.co.nf.
I’ve never, to my knowledge, even used a Joomla created site. It’s not that I’m unhappy with WordPress, (heaven forbid) It’s just that I want to be able to offer my clients different options of CMS.. and I’ve heard a lot of people speak highly of Joomla.
What I’m really hoping for is a UI that’s just as easy – or easier- to use as WordPress. Like WP – it’s open source, so lets just hope it’s easy access too.
T 00.00 : Uploaded Joomla to my free server
T 00.23 : Problem with disabling the Magic_Quotes_GPC to Off – opened a ticket to my server – they explained that they only do this for paid account holders! however, earlier versions of Joomla don’t require that disabling the Magic_Quotes_GPC to Off necessary. So I’m looking for a copy of Joomla 2.5.
T 00.45 : Found a copy of Joomla 2.5, uploading to server.
T 01.05 : That seemed to take ages! My broadband is slowing down!! Anyway – let’s see how installing Joomla 2.5 goes…
T 01.26 : Done!
Took a bit longer than expected… now lets see what this baby can do!
….(later that day…)… Oh dear, broken image links… what went wrong? Is it a Joomla bug? or is my free web server not worth the no money I didn’t not pay for it??
